Josh Nashed

Josh Nashed

CEO

An innovator in the collegiate athletics recruiting space, Josh Nashed founded Nexus Athlete Advising after spending a decade in DI & professional baseball as both a player and coach. After finishing his pro career with the Cleveland Indians, Josh spent 4 seasons coaching at Saint Mary’s College in the West Coast Conference where he was promoted on 3 different occasions. In 2021, Josh became the youngest full time assistant coach in the country at the Division I level, and a year later was named the recruiting coordinator at SMC.

Joe Alvarez

Director of Education Strategy

Joe Alvarez is a senior public-sector leader with more than 20 years of experience spanning K– 12 education, expanded learning, and municipal parks and recreation. He currently serves as Superintendent of Parks & Recreation for the City of Fairfield, where he oversees community-based programs, youth development initiatives, and cross-department partnerships focused on access, equity, and quality experiences for families.

Jimmy Meuel

Jimmy Meuel

Counselor Success Coordinator

Jimmy Meuel is an 18-year college coaching veteran who has transitioned into a dedicated student-athlete advisor and college planning specialist. His extensive coaching background spans NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, as well as NAIA, with roles at nine different four-year institutions including San José State, UC Davis, University of San Francisco, San Francisco State, Academy of Art University, Lewis & Clark College, Menlo College, Willamette University, and UC San Diego.
